Bontrager Road Lite for sale (medium)

Bontrager Road Lite for sale

Size medium (effective 56cm tt)

original Vegas Gold paint in excellent condition

Ultegra 9 Spd - extremely low mileage group.

Ritchey Aero Road OCR wheels, black rims with gold hubs - unridden with Continental GP3 tires

Chris King pre-logo headset

Nitto Pearl stem

no pedals, no saddle (unless you want the Selle Italia LDY women's saddle that's on it now), no computer.

$1100, plus actual boxing by shop and shipping from Atlanta.

This bike belonged to my ex-girlfriend.  Had the almost new Ultegra group and wheels installed shortly before we broke up.  She kept her Fuso w/ Campy and didn't take this with her.  Seatpost and saddle changed from this picture.

I also have a Road Lite in small that I'm keeping so as much as I like this bike I think it would be better if someone else could enjoy it.

If seriously interested, you can reach me at:  taztaylor@gmail.com

Thanks,

 Taz in ATL

note - having trouble displaying a large picture in the blog format.  I can email a larger picture if needed.

For William

... and whoever else drops by.

This is the underside of the top tube on the Pegoretti.  Not pretty, but can be cleaned up and touched up.  If I was keeping, I'd tear down and send off to any number of talented painters and frame builders to clean it up and probably move the cable guide braze ons.

Here's the top of the top tube.  There's a small ding here that's hard to capture in a iPhone photo.

And here's a non-drive side picture of the complete bike.

Click on each picture for a large view.

I'm willing to sell the frame and fork separately and also the Record 10 triple group (but only after the  frame sells).    Details on parts:  Record 10 shifters, Record dual pivot brakes front and rear, Record triple crank, 172.5, 52-42-32, Record triple front derailleur and Record long cage rear derailleur, Record headset, Centaur silver seatpost (not pictured).  I think the cassette is 12-27 but may be 29.

You can reach me by email:  taztaylor@gmail.com   Any offers should consider shipping cost from Atlanta.

and now for something completely different

I haven't done anything cycling related - no buying, selling, or god forbid, riding my bike.  So here's a little info I've picked up from my new career.

I call it 'How to be a successful shoplifter'.  Okay - let me say first, don't shoplift.  It's a shitty thing to do and the latest video game or NFL hoodie is not worth the consequences if when you get caught.

1 - DON'T SHOPLIFT AT WAL-MART.

Seriously, if you gotta shoplift - do it somewhere else.  Wal-Mart has cameras everyfreakingwhere.  And they are watching you.  And they will record you and hunt you down and prosecute you.   Okay, they can't prosecute you but they will call the cops faster than you can open that X-Box controller you just swiped and put down your pants. Just for fun they'll keep your photo so they can call the cops on you for trespassing if you go back again.

Addendum - Forget Target and Lowe's too.  They're almost as bad.

2 - DON'T STEAL OVER $499.99

Still planning on shoplifting?   If you insist, then make sure you're under $500.  Open up a calculator in the store and keep track - its that important.  Why?  Because when you hit the magic $500 mark, you've just left misdemeanor city and jumped into FELONY land.  No fine and a couple of hours in the county jail.  You're looking at PRISON with the big boys.

3 - LEAVE YOUR METH OUTSIDE

Why are you shoplifting?  And why at a known surveillance hell like Wal-Mart?  Well in my (admittedly limited) experience, you're probably an addle brained meth addict.  No lecture from me is going to convince you not to shoplift.  While it's obvious you're going to ignore points 1 & 2, use the few brain cells you have left to observe point 3.  Don't take your meth inside when you go to shoplift.  Leave it out in the parking lot next to a lamp post or dumpster or something.  Don't worry, you won't forget it.  You may forget your mother's name and you may forget to eat or bathe for three months but you won't forget where you left your drugs.  And nobody's going to mess with that nasty little baggie (unless you're unfortunate enough to run into another meth-tarded Wal-mart shoplifter).  So leave your meth outside so when you get caught and arrested - and you will get caught - you'll only be charged with shoplifting and won't pick up a bonus possession of meth felony charge as well.  As my good friend Justice Harris says, "Rule number one - do only one crime at a time".  It makes it much easier to negotiate a lesser punishment with the prosecutor.

And now the disclaimer...

I may or may not be a lawyer.  All you really know is I'm some random guy on the internet.  But I'm definitely not your attorney.  And while the above may sound like legal advice, it is definitely not legal advice and should be considered at most just good common sense.

Personally, I avoid Wal-Mart altogether.

2019

So...  2019?

I rode my bike today - first time in two months.   I rode about 750 miles last year.  Not so much, but about 700 miles more than the previous 5 years combined.

Since my last post - what was that 2014? 2015? - finished law school, got a new (new) job, acquired two new ex's *sigh*, and two new bicycles.

Here are the new bikes:

and

Based on my mileage, both of these purchases were excessive.  At least with the Sachs, I was completing a project/idea/dream that began when this blog was new.

I think the Serotta was the result of winter boredom plus too many accumulated parts and time spent on the internet.  Great bike, but completely superfluous.

I still need to clean out some space so the dormant bike sell-off continues.  Here's what needs to go:

Medium Bontrager Roadlite, effective top tube 56cm.

54 cm Pegoretti Custom Team (55cm tt).

The Roadlite is in excellent condition - having belonged to one of the previously mentioned ex's and not ridden much.

The Pegoretti has seen a bunch of miles - not a garage queen.  Both always stored indoors - usually in the spare bedroom.

Drop me a line at taztaylor@gmail.com if you want to know more.

That's about it for now - update in 2024?  Y'all have a good year.

No Bontrager CX left

Just to update...  No Bontrager Cross frames or bikes are available.  I've sold all of them.

I still have a medium Bontrager RaceLite mtb that I could be persuaded to sale.

Extremely interested parties only...  I don't have a lot of time to spend on questions.

You can usually find one on eBay if you check frequently.

Thanks,
Taz

Sooo...  Sept 2013?  Time flies, huh?

Let's see:  since last post - new job, new car, new motorcycle, six semesters of law school down (four to go), one 'ex' and about 40 lbs added.   And rode my bicycle(s) exactly twice.  Pretty easy to see where the 40 lbs came from.  Oh yeah, one surgery and two small 'procedures'.  I think small only means less anesthetic.

I think most people that have arrived here purposefully have done so based on a search for 'Bontrager'.
To that end, let me say that all of my Bontrager cyclocross bikes have been sold.

I still do have a medium Bontrager RaceLite mtb and a fairly rare medium Bontrager Road Lite that I would sell for the right offer.  Also a medium Ibis Mojo mountain bike - steel from the good old days.   And finally, a Dave Moulton built Recherche road bike, 56cm.

If you're more into trades or barter than cash, I wouldn't mind a Stickley Morris chair or an automatic Omega Speedmaster.

Take care - new blog update in ...  hmm ...  2015?

Not dead yet...

.. but almost.  Guess you could say this blog is on life support.

I haven't posted anything for 10 months, but I get an occasional email from here so somebody out there is still reading or Googling for miscellaneous bike stuff.

To sum up - the previous bike frames (Kvale, Holland, yellow Richard Sachs, 77 Richard Sachs, Bruce Gordons one and two, Bontrager CXs one and two, Chris Chance, Fusos, Ritcheys, and Dave Tesch) have been sold.

I didn't intend to have a 'collection' so this isn't a change in heart/interest/whatever.  Just moving along the bikes that are or were not getting much attention for whatever reason.  Narrowing my focus to riding more and acquiring less.  I'm actually riding more than I have in awhile.  Some other changes (going back to school, etc.) that are less interesting to anyone else but me mean no blog updates.

Reading that list above...wow - that's a pretty ridiculous number.  Probably left out some too.

Anyway... that's kind of what's been going on.  I haven't completely cleared out my bike inventory.  I still have several bikes that I'd like to sell at some point so if you're interested, drop me a reply.

Right now (10/7/2010) these are:
15" Ibis Mojo,  built but never ridden (!)  Literally as new.
15" Bontrager Race Lite with original Bontrager fork crown on Judy fork.
56cm Dave Moulton Recherche  (like Fuso but with different seat stay caps and fork crown).

and either a 55cm Richard Sachs (white) or a newly refinished and S&S coupled 54cm Richard Sachs in red.

I can post or send a picture at some point and if anyone's seriously interested, we can discuss price.

So, if I'm selling/sold all of these, what am I keeping?  Glad you asked!   *snicker*

The bike(s) that I ride these days are:  Pegoretti 8:30AM,  Colnago C-50, world's ugliest Pegoretti Custom Team - my winter bike and not quite as ugly as it was once with yellow rims, tires, saddle and bar tape (ouch!).  And I'm holding on to my Bontrager Road Lite, even though it doesn't see much road time anymore.

At some point, I'll pop up to the top of e-Richie's queue as well.  Maybe I'll move something else out to make room at that point.  Three bikes seems to be the magic number for me, but getting down to that point is difficult.

That's it for now... take care y'all and maybe i'll be back sooner than next August.

I got an email a few days ago from a company that sells cycling jerseys.

They are pretty entertaining and I got a laugh out of them so here's a link:

http://www.sharethedamnroad.com

I particularly like 'Don't Run Me Over'.

No cash or merchandise was exchanged for this link - although it's certainly encouraged.

Happy New Year!
